CBR National Network-Nepal
CBR National Network-Nepal (CBRN - Nepal) is a forum of nongovernment
organisations established to serve the interest of people
with disabilities throughout the country through umbrella framework.
CBRN-Nepal aims to bring positive change in the socio-economic status
and human rights of people with disabilities by building capacities of its
member organizations spread all over the country.
Vision
CBRN-Nepal envisions a society, which respects the rights and dignity of
persons with disabilities presenting to them with equal opportunity to
actualise their potential and become productivemembers of the society.
Mission
Guided by the principles of solidarity, equality and integration, the
CBRN-Nepal is committed to bring positive influence on all round
development of people with disabilities in partnership with stakeholders
on socio-economic status, environment, health, education, development
and human rights.
Goals
• Developing consensus on the need for coordinated multi-sectoral
approach to address national issues and building positive pressure
on the concerned agencies/organisations to contribute towards the
solution
• Mobilisation of education programmes to sensitise people on
disability issues
• Empowerment of peoplewith disabilities tomake positive differences
in the quality of their lives
• Facilitation of sharing experience, information, knowledge and skills
among stakeholders and targeted population.
• Creation of functional teaching- learning platform for continuing
education to all in disability and rehabilitation issues
• Advocacy on human rights and inclusion issues of people with
disabilities
Activities
• Organise National CBR Conference once a year
• Conduct CBR management training to organisations working in
disability
• Publish CBR News Bulletin annually
• Strengthen networks in regional and district level
• Work towards introducing disability as cross cutting issues in
development processes
• Disseminate information on disabilitymanagement and development
within Nepal and South Asia.
• Participate in national and international events related to disability
and rehabilitation
